A look back at the works that became part of Padhang Mbranang.
Through our Studio Invitation, we had the privilege of showcasing works from creative studios who brought their unique perspectives, ideas, and stories into the exhibition.
This work interprets transformation as a ritual journey, one that requires passing through layers of experience before discovering a new sense of self.
Inspired by tirakat, a Javanese practice of reflection and self-discipline, the work explores how growth requires patience, perseverance, and an openness to change. Through visual forms that gradually evolve from simple to complex, each layer represents the experiences that shape a new identity.
Transformation is not a final destination, but an ongoing journey, one that continues to unfold with every step.
